Firstly I'd like to applaud your decision to wait for the right person before having sexual relations.
Secondly I'd like to say that no matter what position you try with your girlfriend she is not going to think your an idiot - she already knows that you are a virgin so I doubt that she is expecting some sort of 'aerobic' sex that requires the skills of a gymnast to do.
Having said that why not go for the old Missionary position (man on top) this will give you better control on depth and speed etc. And hey, half the fun of sex is the practice of new positions....just relax and have fun!
