The desinsitizing cream sounds good to me. my husband has the same problem...but you know what? and, yes, i believe practice does make perfect. the bible says do not deny one another for any reason. if you and your wife arent spiritual or using the bible as the basis of how to love one another there will be problems. for example if she is not respecting you,you may be insecure,or if you are not loving her as your own body (which is the ultimate in emotional and physical intuition and sensitivity and probably why Jesus uses this example!!) then she may feel shut down and not desire you as she once did. i can tell you where to get some spiritual couseling...but one thing that also may help in the meantime is if you take the focus off yourself and focus totally on what she likes--begin to ask more questions-do you like it when i touch you here-how hard- how soft- which direction should i rub in? do you like to use lotion? my tongue? etc. she will get so turned on and you'll be so busy meeting her needs that you may last longer just from all that thinking. (the bible also says consider the needs of others above your own!) hope this helps!
