Jeff, when I was in my late teens and early 20's before I was married, I masturbated 3-4 times a week. Even after I married my wife, I still on occasion masturbate.
Each person is different in so many ways, and sexuality is included. What may be normal for one, may be abnormal for another.
"What can I do to stop." Well, for one, don't be concerned about "having to" stop.
Okay, what to do to lessen the desire to masturbate. I have found that the more frequent my wife and I enjoy lovin' (I like that word better than sex) the less likely I want to masturbate. It seems that the more my wife manually/orally stimulates my penis, the more "fulfilled" I am and then less bent on masturbating. I should state that her technique for arousing my penis during foreplay provides me with incredible wonderful feelings that far surpasses anything I do during masturbating. Also, I do not ejaculate until we have intercourse, the frosting on the cake.
If your wife currently does not manually/orally stimulate your penis during foreplay, I would suggest that you slowly encourage her to do so. Oh yes, before really getting into lovin', do freshen up a bit. That means wash that penis of yours, and she should wash her vulva area. To make it fun, tell her you want her to wash you and you will then wash her, OR take a shower together.
SOOOooo the bottom line is, don't stop masturbating to have better sex with your wife, rather have better sex and you will reduce the desire for masturbating.
