I am a 41 year old male, I typically have no problem gettin to
become aroused, for a few months it was mostly thru self stimulation, now that i have a partner we havnt had intercourse yet ,but she has given me sexual stimulation before, succesfully to orgasm, but the other night after being out and drinking about 12 beers,
some sexual tension was building and we proceeded out to my car where she started giving me genital stimulation,
the problem is i become aroused but could not orgasm after a while I became flacid (soft),
and she became discouraged. The intimate sex problem happened a few months ago with a diff woman as well, no climax after drinking..
is this common after a night of boozing in men my age? its only happened a couple of times lately should i be concerned?
Beers Causing sexual Side Effects - Follow Ups:

Drinking beers, generally believed to be a stimulant, is actually a depressant of the central nervous system (CNS),
brain and spinal cord drinking in any quantity.
It is because beers, like cocaine, marijuana, and other narcotics, suppresses our inhibitions and leads you to
believe your the world's best lover.
Even drinking a couple of beers before sex can be a impotence problem and ruin your
orgasms. Up to 80 percent of men who drink beers heavily are believed to have serious sexual side effects,
including impotence,
sterility, male sexual performance anxiety, or
loss of sexual desire (libido).
Heavy beer drinking over a long period of time can irreversibly destroy testicular cells, leaving men with shrunken testicles. Both sexual drive and sexual capacity can be damaged. Drinking beer also suppresses your
testosterone levels even in social drinkers by suppressing the secretory activity of the
Leydig cells.
As you get older, your problem with impotence sexual side effects will happen more often after drinking beers. And, Viagra will not be of much help.
It is a sign that your drinking days are coming to end, in respect to sexual activity.
Many men think beer is a mild alcohol and will not harm your body. But it will eventually catch up with you
in one way or the other.

In my clinical practice I have seen this occur with any type of alcohol,
mostly in men over the age of 30 or so. But, mainly problems with arousal are associated with alcohol and with beta
blockers (a type of medicine used to treat high blood pressure) and some other medicines.
However, what this
person describes is not erectile dysfunction, it is actually anorgasmia. This is something I have seen only rarely associated with alcohol alone.
Most often, it is a temporary, reversible side effect of some types of medicines
that target serotonin. For example some antidepressants can cause this.
My main point here is that this
unfortunate man is looking for advice in the wrong place. Sometimes sexual dysfunction is the first indicator of an otherwise undetectable serious illness.
I would urge anyone with this type of difficulty to seek a complete evaluation from their MD and carefully come up with a treatment plan.
