It would seem to me that if he were really concerned about his problem and how it affects you that he would see his doctor. I do recommend that he see a doctor to determine what his problem is. Something does not seem right to me.
I hope he does see his doctor, but if he refuses to go, then it would seem to me that it will be difficult to develop a lasting happy relationship.
