I started using 50 mg Viagra (sildenafil citrate) in 1998 when it first went on the market. I guess you could say in that respect I'm one of the pioneers. After a while, however, 50 mg wasn't helping me maintain my male readiness as long as it originally did and it was taking longer and longer to get it, so I bumped the dosage up to 100 mg. Wow--what a difference! Typically, with the 100 mg pills I can be ready in 20 to 45 minutes. I think that since I started using 100 mg Viagra about 4 years ago, it hasn't worked; possibly, 3 times; and the lack of performance at those times was undoubtedly stressed related.

I don't know if Viagra is supposed to prevent early male satisfaction (not prematurely early), but my staying power is off the chart compared to 5 years ago! Taking my first viagra pill this weekend… but will split it in 12.5mg or 25mg.. instead of 50mg as the doctor prescribed… What is better? Take the V… and shortly afterwards have dinner…? Or have dinner and shortly afterwards have the V… for than 1 hour… later on have sex…? What I mean is once taken …than have sex and than have the meal? Or in simpler words… if you are going out to diner what than: before? During? Or after? I understood that the meal is better if light? Thanks in advance...

Please take Viagra (sildenafil citrate) 50mg 2 hrs before sex and at least 1 hr before meals (avoid fatty meal as it interferes with viagra's absorption). You may increase the dose to 100 mg after consulting your doctor.

Yes, I think you should be honest and not have anything to hide. Tell her your secret, for a more meaniful and benificial relationship. It's best to have it out in the open. She may have a secret also, she would share with you. A women needs someone she can trust. And, respects a man who is sincere and open in thier relationship. :-)

Does anyone know of any studies on the long term effects of using viagra? Does anyone know of negative effects of using it for a long period? Has anyone experienced negative long term effects?

I've been taking Viagra for over 5 years now. I'm 67 yrs old. First 2-years I was taking 25mg Viagra twice a week. Then the next year I had to increase the dosage to 50mg. The next year I was using Viagra only once a week then once a month. This last year it hasn't worked at all. I didn't use the 100mg because of being over 65 higher risk. Reply by: jim
